My dear friend Jeanine bought this jacket for Jillian's 1st birthday. Shortly after I bought her this hat with the little braids. Bob says that she looks like a female version of Willie Nelson...so we started calling it her "Willina" hat. Now Dylan will sometimes call Jillian "Willina".

Nail Bitter

Bob was so nervous during the Colts game last night. As you can tell by the pictures it was a nail bitter game for him. In the first half he just about busted my eardrum screaming his displeasure at the defense. The second half he sat quietly and chewed his nails until the very end. As the last seconds ticked off the play clock he started screaming and making phone calls to friends and family.

Colts are going to Superbowl XLI! What an awesome game! I have pictures of Bob during the game. By the end of the game all of Bob's nails were gone! GO COLTS!

Scripture Memorization

We started scripture memorization with Dylan a few weeks ago. He is doing so well and enjoys memorizing scripture . This week he learned Colossians 3:20 "Children, obey your parents in everything for this pleases the Lord. " He learns so quickly and can usually quote the verse the first or second day.

I am so blessed that my son loves Jesus and enjoys learning about the Bible. It is worth all the effort you put into teaching them. Please pray that I do my best in teaching him about Jesus.

Bob and the Wine goblet

Bob is going to kill me for posting this picture but I thought it was too great a picture to pass up. We were watching "Reba" the tv show and Barbara Jean put the entire base of a wine glass in her mouth. Of course Bob let me know that he was just as talented. Needless to say from the pictures I wanted proof.

Christmas with Dylan

Christmas with Dylan was a blas this year! He was very specific about what he wanted for Christmas this year. He wanted Rescue Heroes and GI Joe action figures. As you can tell by the pictures he got what he wanted for Christmas.

Jillian had a wonderful 2nd Christmas! She was a little overwhelmed with all of the travelling and presents. Her favorite present was the Fisher Price kitchen that we gave her for Christmas.

Hello everyone I apologize for the long abscence in updating my blog and promise never again to allow this much time to pass before posting.
I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It is good to be back again.
Our family had a wonderful Christmas visiting my parents in WV and Bob's parents in Peoria IL this year. It was special being able to spend Christmas with my grandparents in WV. It was the first time in 7 years that I had been able to spend Christmas with them.
Dylan and Jillian had a wonderful Christmas and loved all of their MANy presents.

Fun in the leaves

Dylan loves the piles of leaves in our yard. He asked Bob to rake all of the leaves together into one huge pile. Then they moved the Fisher Price slide so that he could slide into the leaves. It is amazing the imaginative things that children put together.

Reconnecting with an old friend

I have finally reconnected with my dear friend Tasha. While attending college Tasha, my best friend Jeanine, and I were inseparable. After moving away from Cincinnati to the great state of Indiana I lost contact with Tasha. Jeanine & I have remained close friends and searched for Tasha for several years.
A couple of weeks ago I finally found my dear friend. She is living in Grand Cayman with her husband Darrell and daughters Kylie and Camerin. Tasha is teaching 5th grade and coaching.

The unicorn is my 4 year old niece Rachel. Dylan chose his Superman costume based on the male ego. He wanted muscles! Jillian's ladybug costume was a big hit. She danced around laughed, and clapped her hands. Jillian thought she was really big stuff.

After 1 1/2 hours of trick-or-treating they each ended up with a whole bowel of candy. I love Halloween!

In the first picture Dylan is having a blast on the merry-go-round with his friends Gavin, Micah, and Kayden.

The second picture is Dylan feeding the ducks and geese.

The third picture is Jillian making faces at the ducks...she thought they were so funny.

The fourth picture is Abby Bolton peeking out of her stroller. She was supposed to be taking a nap. Abby is one of the remaining Bolton Quintuplets.

We found this mask at our new "Everything a Dollar" store. Dylan thought it was so cool he just had to have it for Halloween. Jillian was impressed with the nose and can't seem to get enough chewing time in.

The Flu Bug

Have you ever wondered what the flu bug really looks like. Well until this weekend I never would have believed it looked like this.

Our family can sympathize with Stanley in this comic. In the past few days our entire family has been bitten by the terrible flu bug. We are still on the mend and hope to make a speedy recovery.

I feel like Stanley in the comic; like I have been knocked over the head with a club. Unlike Stanley I can't call into work sick. When you are a mother & wife the work must go on.

Remembering 9/11...

Looking back at this terrible day I remember the moment the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. Sitting on our couch holding our newborn son Dylan who was just a few weeks old I remember thinking how fragile and precious life is. Here I am holding a precious baby a symbol of life and innocence and this terrible tragedy is unfolding before my eyes.

The horror of that day is something that I will never forget. However, I cannot say the same for millions of American's around our great country today. We so easily forget how blessed we are to live in America the land of the free and the brave. So many have given their lives for our freedom and this great land. Let us not forget that we are not a people divided by party, race, or religious affiliation but we are American's!

As an American on the worst day this country has ever faced I was so proud of our President George W. Bush. I watched as his faith shone through and gave him strength and courage to face the challenges ahead. He portrayed such courage as he was told the news in a school room full of children. Defying all orders from his security advisors he returned to the Whitehouse showing the terrorists and America the face of a President who would not be intimidated.

The pictures posted above are some of my favorite from 9/11. To me they represent what America is really all about. Freedom, pride, resilience, and bravery in the face of terror. May God bless America!

Dylan is a handy guy to have around. I walked into the kitchen the other day and he was cradeling Jillian in his arms feeding her a bottle. He loves his little sister so much! Jillian adores Dylan and follows him around everywhere.

Jillian gets into everything! Her favorite thing is the newspaper. After I finish reading the paper and browsing through the flyers I hand it over to Jillian. She will throw the paper all over the living room floor and dive into the pile. The sound of all the paper thrills her. She uses her "Waggoner" lungs and squeals as loud as she can. The last thing she does is proceed to eat it the newspaper! A day in the life of Jillian is so exciting.

Dylan started the new school year at St. Matthew Preschool today. He is in the Pre K class this year. There are 16 kids in his class. Three of the kids were in his 3 & 4 's class from last year and one boy attends the same YMCA swimming class as Dylan. Of course he had to tell everyone at school about his new Lightning McQueen back pack. Then he went on to tell them about the movie as well. Lightning McQueen is his new "favorite" thing. There are too many "favorite" things for me to keep up with.

Jillian loves her new car! Let me tell you she is quite the little driver. The walls and base boards are looking a little banged up. She doesn't yeild to feet either.

Jillian also started walking really well all by herself this past weekend. Her little legs go faster than her body can keep up. The crawling days are over and the running days are just around the corner.

I wonder if this is CBS's way of improving their image. Once again we are left wondering is CBS

Jillian is learning to say "doggie". She really discovered what dogs are when I took her to the humane society here in Frankfort this week. She was so excited when the dogs licked her hands and toes. Now she is loves her stuffed doggie!

Last evening I was listening to the crickets and admiring the few leaves that have already changed on the trees. Fall is in the air!

It reminded me of a poem that Bob's mother wrote a few years ago for the magazine "Ideals". I have added the poem below for your enjoyment.

Leaves of orange, red, and brown
Falling down;
Indian summer's golden haze,
Autumn days.
Gourds and pumpkins on the ground,

He is starting to enjoy her more now that she is able to crawl around and bug him.
This month he is taking swimming lessons at the YMCA for the first time. He is having a blast!

Elizabeth, Abigail, and Joshua have recovered from the infection NEC. Elizabeth and Joshua are coming home today! Abigail is having problems with acid reflux and will need to stay in the NICU a few more weeks. Praise the Lord for His continued hand of protection on the Bolton quints. Our friends from church Shane & Christine Bolton and their babies received good news today concerning the children. Joshua & Abigail contracted NEC an infection in the intestines which can be fatal. The Bolton's almost lost Joshua & Abigail on Sunday night, but this morning x-rays showed some signs of improvement. Please continue to pray for the remaining 3 of the quintuplets. The next 24-48 hours are critical for Joshua & Abigail.

Praise the Lord for this good news! He is so faithful!
